Australian supercar gets the green light

Australian automaker Elfin has finally approved production of its MS8 Streamliner roadster. The car first debuted in concept form at the Melbourne Motor Show in 2004. Problems related to emissions and noise regulations have been resolved, and the automaker decided last week that it could go ahead with production. The car weighs 2,400 lbs and has a 5.7 liter V8 with 325 horsepower and 443 lb/ft of torque. Production will be limited to 100 units, and availability will begin later this year. It will cost about $119,475 in Australia, which is equal to $88,500 in U.S. dollars. Gallery after the jump...
