Clarkson: Mercedes E63 a "better bet" than M5

After spending a thirteen paragraphs discussing his iPod's music collection, British columnist and Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson shares his brief experience with the new Audi All Road. He begins by praising it as a "handsome and inexpensive alternative to that gargoyle of a car, the new Q7." But the praise stops there. "As you drive along a small patch of condensation forms on the outside of the windscreen, right in your line of sight [...] it's so annoying I'm simply going to dismiss the whole car as useless and move on to the AMG Mercedes E-class." Right.

Clarkson is particularly fond of the E63 AMG's new 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8. "The result is a car that's preposterously fast," he says, While not "particularly exciting to drive," the car is quiet and "remarkably comfortable." The slow BMW M5 may still be a "more thrilling ride," but at the end of the day the Mercedes is "the better bet," according to Clarkson.
