Spied: 2008 Jeep Liberty to get retractable roof

Earlier this week, we brought you pictures of an uncamouflaged 2008 Jeep Liberty. But those were shot at street level and may have overlooked one of the most interesting features that will be offered on the new Liberty: a huge retractable fabric roof.

According to spy Brenda Priddy, she first started inquiring about the upcoming Liberty months ago, sources seemed to switch subjects to the ASC Cosmos Hummer H3 that was shown at the 2006 NAIAS. The ASC Hummer had -- you guessed it -- a retractable canvas roof. Although we can't confirm the designer and supplier of the retractable roof, Priddy says there is good indication of ASC is involvement.
