Toyota reports record sales; Honda, Nissan also up

Toyota today reported best-ever October U.S. sales of 189,011 vehicles, an increase of 13.6 percent over October 2005. Lexus passenger cars posted best-ever October sales of 14,373 units, an increase of 23.4 percent over October 2005.

Honda and Acura have reported total vehicle sales of 110,624 for October -- an increase of 3.7 percent over last year on a daily selling rate basis. Sales of the all-new 2007 Honda CR-V totaled 20,413, representing an increase of 95.7 percent in its first full month of sales.

Nissan North America today reported sales of 75,095 units in October, an increase of 8.1 percent from the prior year. Nissan Division sales increased by 9.6 percent over last year. Infiniti Division posted a sales decrease of 1.8 percent versus the prior year.
