Ford teases another compact off-roader to sell alongside Bronco

The darkened rendering hints at a Jeep Renegade rival.

Ford's aggressive plan to fill out its crossover/SUV lineup will include another compact model to sell alongside the resurrected Bronco.

A darkened teaser rendering suggests the upcoming addition will be aimed at the Jeep Renegade. The company promises both the as-yet-unnamed model and the Bronco will be focused on off-road capabilities.

"Ford helped start the off-road phenomenon and has majored in off-road capability for decades - from the Bronco to the Raptor," says Ford global president Jim Farley. "Now, we're ready to reclaim our rightful place as the off-road vehicle leader."

The Blue Oval also released a teaser photo for the Bronco, highlighting its boxy profile but keeping other details hidden beneath a muddy veil.
